5.18 Multiplication of Fractions

  1. Multiply the numerators of the given fractions.
  2. Multiply the denominators of the given fractions.
  3. Form the fraction whose numerator is the product of the numerators and denominator is the product of the denominators.
  4. Simplify to the lowest terms.
Example: 2/4 x 3/5
  1. Multiply 2 and 3 on the numerator.
  2. Multiply 4 and 5 on the denominator.
  3. We get 6 on the numerator and 20 on the denominator.
  4. Simplyfying to lowest terms 6/20 = 3/10
Answer: 3/10
