2.10 Decimals to Fractions

Steps to convert a decimal into fraction.
  1. Write the numerator with the number without the decimal.
  2. To write the denominator:
    a) Find the number of digits after the decimal. Say there are n digits after the decimal.
    b) Divide the number by 10n.
Example: Convert 0.25 to fraction
  1. Numerator = 025 = 25
  2. Denominator:
    The number of digits after the decimal is two
    That is n= 2
    Denominator = 102 = 100
  3. 25/102
Answer: 25/100
