### Grade 7 - Mathematics8.14 Problems on Parallelogram - II

Example: Two adjacent sides of a parallelogram are 6 cm and 9 cm. Find its perimeter. Solution: We know that the opposite sides of a parallelogram are equal. Two of its sides are given by 6 cm and 9 cm.Therefore the rest of the sides will be of measure 6 cm and 9 cm. Hence the perimeter = The sum of all sides of the parallelogram = 6 + 9 + 6 + 9 = 30cm. Example: Two adjacent sides of a parallelogram is given by 'x' and '5x'. Find its perimeter. Solution: We know that the perimeter of a parallelogram is equal to the sum of its sides. Here two adjacent sides are of measure x and 5x. Since opposites sides of a parallelogram are equal then the remaining sides will be of measure x and 5x. Hence Perimeter = x + x + 5x + 5x = 12x units. Directions: Read the above example carefully and answer the following questions: Two adjacent sides of a parallelogram are given by '5x' and '7x'. Find the perimeter of the parallelogram. Find the value of the perimeter when x = 2. Two adjacent sides of a parallelogram are given by '2x' and '3x'. Find the perimeter. Sketch the parallelogram and label it. Also write at least 10 examples of your own.
