There are two kinds of nonterminating recurring decimals.
They are
1. Pure recurring decimals.
2. Mixed recurring decimals.
Pure recurring decimals:
If all the digits after the decimal point recur in a decimal then it is called a pure recurring decimal.
Example:
1. 0.111........ = 0.1
2. 0.616161........... = 0.61
3. 50.123123123.......... = 50.123
Mixed Recurring Decimals:
If some digits immediately after the decimal point do not recur but other digits following them recur, then it is called a mixed recurring decimal.
Example:
1. 4.3545454....... = 4.354
[Here 3 immediately after the decimal does not recur. While 54 after 3 recurs.]
Directions: Choose the correct answer. Also write atleast 5 examples of your own for pure and mixed terminating decimals.
