Grade 6 - Mathematics 9.14 Circumference of a Circle

Circumference of a Circle:
The distance around a circle is called the called the circumference. It is denoted by "C". The circumference of a circle is p times its diameter or 2ptimes its radius.

p
is a constant, the value of p
is 22/7.

\C = pd or C = 2pr

Example: The radius of a circle is 3.5 cm. Find its circumference.
C = 2pr
Given that r = 3.5 cm,
\C = 2 * 22/7 * 3.5 = 22cm
\C = 22 cm

Directions: Answer the following questions. Also write at least 5 examples of your own.
