Method:
1) Which ratio is greater 2:3 or 3:2? Take the L.C.M. of consequents of the given ratios, 3 x 2 = 6. Now 2:3 = 2x2:3x2 = 4:6 3:2 = 3x3:2x3 = 9:6 Now that the consequents are equal, just compare the antecedents. Since 9 is greater than 4, the ratio 9:6 is greater than 4:6. Hence, 3:2 is greater than 2:3. 2) Which ratio is greater 21:32 or 73:32? Since the consequents are equal, just compare the antecedents. 73 is greater than 21. Therefore, 73:32 is greater than 21:32. Directions: Find the ratio that is greater. Also write at least ten examples of your own.
