1.28 Additive Inverse and Additive Identity in Rational Numbers

Additive Identity: For any rational number a/b where b is not equal to zero, 0+a/b = a/b+0 = a/b. Therefore, zero is the identity element for addition in rational number.
Example: 0+7/9 + 7/9+0 = 7/9

Additive Inverse: For any non-zero rational number a/b, there exists a unique rational number -a/b such that a/b + (-a/b) = 0. a/b and -a/b are additive inverses. Each one is called the additive inverse of the other.
Example: 2/3 + (-2/3) = (2-2)/3 = 0/3 = 0
