 Method: Start by adding the numbers in ones place and then move to tens digit. If the sum of numbers in one place is a 2 digit number, we write the ones digit of the number in ones place and carry over the digit in tens place to the numbers in the tens place. Example: 34+39 Start by adding numbers in ones place that is 9 and 4 which is 13. Since this is a 2 digit number, we write 3 under ones place and add 1 to the numbers in tens place.
