Grade 5 - Mathematics
4.9 Writing Zeroes in the Dividend
Read the questions carefully.
Divide and write the answer.
Add 0 in the numerator which makes it 48.60/12
4 is lesser 12, so we divide 48 by 12.
Then place a decimal point, bring down 6.
6 is lesser than 12, so we divide 60 by 12.
Divide the following decimals. Also write four more examples of your own.
: 367 / 7 = ? (hint: since 367=367.0=367.00 you can add as many zeroes after the last place of the dividend as you need in order to complete the division)
: 593.6 / 19 = ? (hint: since 593.6 = 593.60 = 593.600 you can add as many zeroes after the last place of the dividend as you need in order to complete the division)
