1.26 Doubles Plus One

Method:
  1. Read out the numeric expression given.
  2. Reduce it to the form such that it results in doubles with a 1 added to it.

Example:
Write 9 + 10 in doubles plus one form.

Look at the numbers in the above numeric expression.
Here we rewrite 10 as 9 + 1
9 + 10 = 9 + 9 + 1
Answer: 9 + 9 + 1

Directions: Answer the following questions. Also write at least ten examples of your own.
Q 1: Write 6 + 7 in doubles plus one form.
7 + 4 + 2 = 13
5 + 5 + 3 = 13
8 + 2 + 3 = 13
6 + 6 + 1 = 13

 Q 2: Write 4 + 5 in doubles plus one form.
3 + 5 + 1 = 9
2 + 2 + 5 = 9
4 + 4 + 1 = 9
6 + 2 + 1 = 9

Q 3: Write 5 + 6 in doubles plus one form.
6 + 3 + 2 = 11
7 + 2 + 2 = 11
7 + 2 + 2 = 11
5 + 5 + 1 = 11

 Q 4: Write 7 + 8 in doubles plus one form.
8 + 4 + 3 = 15
6 + 7 + 2 = 15
9 + 1 + 5 = 15
7 + 7 + 1 = 15

Q 5: Write 3 + 4 in doubles plus one form.
5 + 1 + 1 = 7
3 + 3 + 1 = 7
2 + 2 + 3 = 7
4 + 0 + 3 = 7

 Q 6: Write 8 + 9 in doubles plus one form.
8 + 8 + 1 = 17
9 + 6 + 2 = 17
7 + 7 + 3 = 17
6 + 6 + 5 = 17
