  1. Area of a square is side x side.
  2. Perimeter of a square is 4 x side.
  3. Area of rectangle is width x height.
  4. Perimeter of rectangle is 2(length + width)
  5. Perimeter of an equilateral triangle is 3 x side.
Example: What is the perimeter of a rectangle whose width is 2 cm and height is 5 cm.
Perimeter = 2(width + height)
Perimeter = 2(2 + 5 )
Perimeter = 2(7)
Answer: 14 cm


Directions: Answer the following. Also draw at least five examples of triangle, square and a rectangle and find its area and perimeter.
Q 1: A square has sides of 4 cm. What is its area?
4 x 4 = 16 sq cm
4 x 1 = 4 sq cm
4 x 2 = 8 sq cm
