Method:

  • Step 1: We find the missing factor by splitting the product into rows of the given factor.
  • Step 2: This is same as dividing the product by the given factor.

Example:
3* _ = 12
To find out the missing factor, we draw patterns. Since the product is 12, and the given factor is 3, we divide 12 into rows containing 3.
