### Grade 7 - Mathematics7.2 Properties of Triangles

Points to Remember: The sum of the angles of a triangle is equal to 180 degrees. The sum of any two sides of a triangle is greater than the third side. The difference of any two sides of a triangle is less than the third side. In an Isosceles triangle, the angles opposite to the equal sides are equal. If, in a triangle, two angles are equal, then the sides opposite to them are also equal. "In an Equilateral triangle all the angles are equal" and "A triangle in which all the angles are equal is an Equilateral triangle". The exterior angle of a triangle is equal to the sum of its two interior opposite angles and so it is greater than each of them. Directions: Read the above properties of triangles and answer the following questions: Illustrate each of the above properties by drawing a triangle. Write in your own words the properties of triangles.
Q 1: Find the exterior angle of a triangle, if the measure of its interior opposite angles are 56 degrees and 36 degrees.(Type the number only).Answer: Q 2: If, in an obtuse isosceles triangle, the measure of the obtuse angle is 120 degrees, then the measure of one of the other angles is ______.30 degrees40 degrees60 degrees Q 3: If two angles of an isosceles triangle are 56 degrees and 68 degrees in measure, then the other angle is ______.68 degrees56 degrees44 degrees Q 4: In a right isosceles triangle the measure of one of the angles other than the right angle is ______.30 degrees45 degrees50 degrees Q 5: The sum of angles of a right angled triangle other than the right angle is ______.45 degrees90 degrees180 degrees Q 6: Find the value of 'b', if the angles of a triangle are 45 degrees, 52 degrees and b degrees.Answer: Question 7: This question is available to subscribers only!
