5.10 Elapsed Time in 30 Minute Increments

Method:

  1. Look at the time shown by two clocks.
  2. Record the time in the first clock: hour and minutes.
  3. Record the time in the second clock: hour and minutes.
  4. Find the difference in the times between the two in clock time.

Example:
What is the elapsed time between the two clocks?

Time in the first clock: 10:00
Time in the second clock: 2:00
Time elapsed between 10 and 2 is 4 hours. (10 to 12 it is 2 hours, 12 to 2 it is another 2 hours
Note: The time is not 10 - 2 = 8
Answer : 4.00
Directions: Find the time elapsed for the following questions. Also write at least ten examples of your own.
