Example:
Find the distance between the points (2,9) and (4,7).
Solution:
Formula for this problems is [(x_{2}  x_{1})^{2} + (y_{2}  y_{1})^{2}].
Substituting the values in the above formula
= [(4  2)^{2} + (7  9)^{2}]
= [(2)^{2} + (2)^{2}]
= (4 + 4)
= 8
Therefore, the distance of the points (2,9) and (4,7) is 8.
