Example:
The height of a tent is 10 cm. Its base diameter is 48 cm. What is its slant height?
Solution:
Height of a tent (h) = 10cm.
Its base radius (r) = diameter/2 = 48/2 = 24cm.
l2 = h2 + r2
l2 = 102 + 242
l2 = 100 + 576
l2 = 676
l = 676
l = 26cm.
Therefore, the slant height is 26cm.
