A prism whose bases are perpendicular to the lateral edges and all lateral faces are rectangles is called a right prism.
A prism is named according to the shape of its base.
The sides of a triangular prism are 14cm., 18cm. and 22cm. its height is 21cm. Find the total length of its edges.
Sum of the length of edges (S) = n * h + 2s
Where n = The number of sides of the base.
h = height.
s = Perimeter of the base.
S = Length of the edges.
Perimeter of the base (s) = 14 + 18 + 22 = 54cm.
Therefore S = n*h + 2s.
S = 3*21 + 2*54
S = 63 + 108
S = 171cm.
