 Square root: If a number is multiplied by itself then the product is said to be square of the number. Perfect Square: If a number can be written as the product of two equal factors then the number said to be perfect square. Example: Find the square root of 144. Factorize 144. 144 = 12 x 12 12 can be written as 4 x 3. 4 can be written as 2x2. Hence 144 is 2x2x3x2x2x3. Therefore the square root of 144 is 2x2x3 = 12 Answer: 12 Direction: Solve the following square root problems using factorization method. Also write at least ten examples of your own.
