Find the L.C.M. of 60 and 72.

Solution:
Prime factors of 60 = 2 * 2 * 3 * 5
Prime factors of 72 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 3 * 3
The common prime factors of 60 and 72 are 2, 2 and 3
The remaining prime factors of 60 are 5.
The remaining prime factors of 72 are 2 and 3.
Therefore, L.C.M. = Common prime factors of 60 and 72 * the prime factors left in 60 * the prime factors left in 72.
= 2 * 2 * 3 * 2 * 3 * 5.
= 360.
Therefore, L.C.M. of 60 and 72 is 360.
